Promotion Video & Brand Identity

 

Arise is a basketball festival to be held in the summer in Vancouver, bringing
together professional and community basketball players for three days of sharing, playing, and celebrating.

Our goal is to help people to learn life lessons through basketball and meaningful relationships on the court.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. To promote the sport, they have lots of great motion pieces.
I wanted to bring that same positive effect to promote basketball to a wider audience.

For the story, I wanted to tell something that most people here would identify with
– the hobbyist basketball player who has a different day job or lifestyle, but still enjoys playing basketball.
Although their life may sometimes overwhelm them, they never forget their love of the basketball.

Motion Piece Art Direction

 

I adjusted the color and made it slightly different than the brand identity
to bring more energetic mood for the audience.   

I narrowed down the colour palette and kept it simple.
I used two different palettes to show the contrast between the monotonous lifestyle
of the character working each day, and the catharsis they experience through enjoying the sport.

Red is the main color in this motion piece to represents passion, and to remind us not to forget our passions.
